Loutro is a quiet fishing village on the south coast of Crete.

The amphitheatrical bay, right by the sea, boasts a unique promenade of white buildings and blue windows in perfect Cycladic style!

Loutro is accessible only by sea or on foot, making it an ideal place for those seeking refuge from everyday stress.

Starting from the famous resort of Chora Sfakion (about 1.5 hours away from Chania), with about 10km you can get to Loutro by boat or walking.

Ferries depart daily from May to October. Or you can walk along the coast on the E4 path, passing and resting on the beaches of Glyka Nera or Timios Stavros.

The area near Loutro is a paradise for hikers and fans of long walks surrounded by spectacular nature. The natural beauty of the surrounding valleys and gorges is truly priceless and the scenic view of the southern coast of Crete will leave you breathless.

Once in the village, you can venture up the hill to discover the Venetian Castle of Loutro and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view.

Loutro beach is located towards the east of the village. It is a small but well organized pebble beach where you can swim in the beautiful emerald waters, snorkel and marvel at the unique seabed of Loutro. No more than 700m to the west, you can visit the small beach of Finikas as well as Lykos beach.

Our followers particularly appreciated the color of the sea water and the possibility of fantastic hiking!
